What is Bity?

Blockchains or other decentralized technologies have the potential to alter the ways in which various economies function. Bity just happens to be one of the many cryptocurrency gateways to that end. The firm is based in Switzerland and was founded in 2014. Its sole purpose is apparently to become the country’s main cryptocurrency exchange.

Other than your standard cryptocurrency trading services involving BTC, ETH, USDC, and various other tokens, it also provides its users with fiat currency support, which primarily extends to the EUR and CHF. Moreover, it is compliant with every international AML regulation and is also managed by the Swiss regulatory authorities, with KPMG auditing its various operations.

How to Sign Up for Bity?

If you are new to the cryptocurrency landscape or are simply interested in what you may find on this exchange, then the following guide is for you. So, here, we will be delving into how one can get onboard this cryptocurrency exchange, effectively covering both its KYC and sign-up procedures, respectively.

Step 1. Visit the Bity Website

From what we have gathered, it seems like there is no mobile application for this exchange, so you cannot register on this exchange with your phone. Therefore, we will look at how you can do that using its website instead.

So, from your desktop, click on the browser with which you are comfortable and go to its official website. Upon reaching there, from its homepage, select the Sign-Up button, which can be found towards the upper right-hand corner.

Step 2. Enter Your Email Address and Username

While other cryptocurrency exchanges provide the option of using your phone number to register for an account, it does not look like you will find that option here. So, one can only enter their email address, which will be connected to their account on Bity.

Once you have added your email address here, you will have to enter a username as well, one by which you’d like to be known on this exchange.

Step 3. Set a Strong Password

These days, like with any registration procedure that you will find on cryptocurrency exchanges, a password has to be added, and it has to be strong—not the name of your pet or birthday. So, make sure that the password you set up has a blend of letters (both uppercase and lowercase), special characters, and a few numbers.

So, once you have entered what you want here, see if your password has a sum of 8 characters, as that is the bare minimum; still, the more you include here, the better. Besides that, make sure that your password is something that is unique to this particular exchange, meaning that it should not be or have been utilized anywhere other than here.

Step 4. Agree to the Bity Terms of Service

Whenever you are registering for a cryptocurrency exchange, it would be preferable if you tried to read every rule, policy, or term of service that has been outlined, just in case you come across something that may not be to your liking, which might be severe enough to make you re-evaluate your decision to sign up here. At the very least, you will be more informed that way.

So, once you have done that, simply tick the box that states, “You consent that you have read our Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy.”

Step 6. Enter Your Verification Code

All that remains to be done now is add a verification code, which will be shared with the email address you have entered here. So, head over to your email account, open your inbox, look for the email sent by Bity, and then copy the verification code within it.

Now, on the Bity Registration page, paste the code that you copied into the relevant field to get your email address properly verified. Following that, your account creation process has been completed.

How to Verify Your Account on Bity?

Like many exchanges nowadays, Bity includes its own KYC procedure, which you may want to complete if you do not wish any of your withdrawals to be limited to certain amounts or have your access to its services limited.

Step 1. Click Personal Account

Bity, since it is compliant with Swiss regulatory frameworks that aim to eliminate money laundering, defines proper KYC, aka Know Your Customer, processes. Hence, you will be requested to hand out specific documents based on the volumes you want to unlock.

Now, login to the account you have just created, access the Profile tab, and select the Personal Account option.

Step 2. Start Identification Process

Following that, login once more to access Bity’s new onboarding page. Click on the Start the identification process option, after which you will have to follow a number of steps that will be asked of you here, like phone number verification, capturing a video, submitting various documents, etc.
