Step 1. Register
Before you begin trading on Huobi, you will obviously have to sign up for the platform, and you can do that either through its web or mobile application. This registration guide will use the web version as an example.
To register an account on the Huobi exchange, just go to its official website, and click. The Sign Up button that you will find on the upper right side of its webpage, and go through the steps outlined, like adding your phone number or email address, a password, etc.
Step 2. Complete verification
While you can trade on Huobi Global without completing KYC, your trading activity will be somewhat hampered. So, in the long run, it might be better if you complete the KYC procedure, which this section will cover.
While you can complete the KYC process on its website, here we will look at the mobile version instead. Open your Huobi application and press the Me option at the bottom. Then tap Unverified on the upper right side, and you will then find yourself looking at the different verification levels on the platform, which mainly boil down to three. On the “Basic Permissions” section, i.e., the first verification level, tap the verify option. Fill in the information required of you here, namely your country of residence, last name, date of birth, first name, and nationality. After you have submitted the information, you are done with your Level 1 permission.
The second verification level is titled “Basic Verification.” Tap Verify in that section and choose your ID type, i.e., ID card. Upload some proper photos of your identity documents and then submit the verification application. The second level of verification will be successfully completed once your application is approved.
The third and final verification level is titled “Advanced Verification.” Tap Verify to begin, and here you will have to undergo facial verification. Once your application for this level of verification has been approved, you will finally be done with your KYC process on Huobi.
Step 3. Deposit
Here we will use USDT as an example, demonstrating how you can deposit cryptocurrency from other networks to your Huobi account through its mobile application. Select the “Deposit” button, which you will find on the assets page, and choose the asset, which, in this case, is USDT. Choose the correct deposit network, which is TRC20, here, and copy either the QR code or the deposit address. Then paste the address into the withdrawal pages of the other accounts or platforms from which you will transfer the funds. And that’s it; the USDT will be deposited shortly.
Step 4. Buy crypto
There are various methods on Huobi Global for you to buy cryptocurrencies, including fiat methods like credit or debit cards, P2P trading, and more, some of which we will be taking a brief look at.
Fiat
The two primary fiat methods that exist on Huobi to buy cryptocurrencies are debit and credit cards and bank transfers. Here, we will be looking at how you can buy using EUR through a bank transfer (SEPA). As for debit and credit cards, that will be discussed later on.
Log in to your Huobi account (web), click on “Balance,” and then “Exchange Account.” Select Deposit, then Exchange, type EUR in the search field, and then click on the Deposit option for EUR. Choose SEPA as the bank transfer method, add the EUR amount you wish to deposit, and click Next. First-time users, however, will have to complete the KYC process before depositing using such methods. You can determine how much you can deposit based on your verification level; if you want to “Increase Limit,” then complete advanced verification. Also, use the bank account with the same name you used to sign up on Huobi. Following that, to initiate SEPA transfers, go to your online bank account, log in, head over to your Transfer menu, and add the relevant information asked of you there. Or you can instead go to your local branch to make transfers. The EUR balance will be credited to your account after the transfer has been reviewed and approved, and please remember to add a valid reference number; otherwise, your deposit will fail.
Debit/credit card
To buy using debit or credit cards, head over to its official website and select Buy Crypto, and then “Quick Buy/Sell” once you have logged in. From the drop-down menus, choose the type of local currency and cryptocurrency you wish to purchase, and click Buy to place purchase orders. Select the +Add option if it is your first time using cards or if you wish to link a card you haven’t linked before. After that, enter the information asked of you, like the card number, expiration date, etc., and then click Next to continue. Once your card has been linked successfully, you’ll see every linked card on your payment list and can then switch between them to continue with your payment there. But should your card linking fail, just check if the information provided is accurate or whether the card happens to be the one that you have linked previously. Now, once you’re done with all that, you will be directed to the quotation page, and once there, check if everything is in order, like the fiat currency you have to pay, the cryptocurrency amount, and the linked card. After your transaction has been completed, you can then transfer your cryptocurrencies to your Huobi Exchange Account from your Fiat Account through Huobi.
P2P
To buy using P2P, log in to your Huobi account on mobile, select Trade, then Fiat, and then P2P. Choose your desired payment methods, fiats, cryptocurrencies, and your price, then select Buy. The limit indicates the minimum and maximum cryptocurrency amount you can purchase. Choose the total fiat or cryptocurrency amount that you wish to purchase within 45 seconds, and select Order. After that, choose your desired payment method with which to transfer the funds, and then tap Pay Now. Select Contact to communicate with sellers should you have any questions. Then transfer the funds within the allocated time limit through the selected payment method. You can switch from the Huobi application to your own payment gateway to send the money. After the payment is completed, return to the Huobi application to prove the payment’s completion. And once you have double-confirmed your payment to the seller, press “I have paid.” Wait a while for the seller to verify your transfer within their account, and if they didn’t release your cryptocurrency to you, then you can press the Complaint button. However, once the seller has collected the funds, your tokens will be deposited in your fiat account.
Step 5. Choose trade

Spot
Spot trading on Huobi is pretty straightforward. Just log in to your account on mobile, select Trade on the main page at the very bottom, and then select Spot. The spot trading page will be composed of several components, and here we will use limit orders as an example. Choose your preferred trading pair, and once you have referenced the bid and ask prices, which can be found towards the right of the buy and sell section, add the order amount and price, and then select Buy to complete your limit order.

Unfortunately, you cannot trade futures on Huobi in the US since it is a restricted country.
How to short on Huobi without leverage
Yes, you can do so, and it should be possible for you to short on Huobi with 1x leverage. However, you do not need to do that on its futures exchange. Still, if you wish to open short positions without leverage regardless, you could do that by simply changing the leverage to 1x.
